The Historic marker dedication was one of the first events of the
W3R Historic
weekend.
Many of our elected officials and guests attended the
dedication. It was beautiful weather.
Light refreshments followed the
dedication. Later, an invitation-only dinner was served.
The Robinson House regains its place
in history with the dedication of this new Historic Marker acknowledging the 250+ year history of the Robinson House in Claymont, Delaware.
Built @ 1723. Acquired by
Thomas Robinson, a Philadelphia merchant, in 1749.
The proximity of the Robinson House to one of the country's major transportation corridors
made it a landmark for passing travelers and it is believed that many prominent figures stopped to visit.
The Robinson House was listed
in the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
